Charlotte LapYin () Bedward

We gave birth at home with HomeFirst. The nurse and doctor came to our house. It was a natural birth with no complications. Contractions started around 8:30 PM on June 17th. And Charlotte was born at 3:30 AM on June 18th. That's about 7 hours total. Caroline did a great job! That's pretty fast for a first child. Especially considering Charlotte's size. Not only was she 9 pounds, but she was also doing "Jacob's Reach", where an arm comes out with the head, making even more work for mom.

Jacob's Reach

23The LORD said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger."

24When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb. 25The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment; so they named him Esau. 26After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau's heel; so he was named Jacob*. Isaac was sixty hears old when Rebekah gave birth to them.

Genesis 25:24-26

*Jacob means he grasps the heel (figuratively, he deceives) - Let's hope Charlotte won't be too deceptive!

I want to have children, but my friends scare me.

One of my friends told me she was in labor for 36 hours.

I don't even want to do anything that feels good for 36 hours.
