What
I Believe
Craig
Bedward

Religion
-
Truth exists.
-
Absolute truth exists.
-
The Bible is the revealed word of the
living God.
-
There is nothing that you can
do to make yourself right with God. The good news is, you don't have
to, Jesus already did.
-
Jesus alone is the one and only way to
God.
-
Our sin separates us from God,
since he is perfect.
-
Jesus was the son of
God; He
was God in the flesh.
-
Jesus came to earth for the
purpose of dying. It wasn't some unfortunate situation. It was
the supreme act of love.
-
Jesus' death paid the penalty for
our sin.
-
Jesus
rose from the dead, conquering sin (read The
FEAT that Demonstrates the Fact of Resurrection).
-
Jesus said "I am the way, the
truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except by
me." John 14:6.
-
Those who do not accept Jesus as their
savior will spend their eternity in hell, a real place.
-
There is no particular church that
saves. Churches are just groups formed by men. They are only as good
as the degree to which they follow Christ. However, good churches
are everywhere and it is very important for a Christian to be part
of one to be learning and growing in the faith.
-
Faith is only as good as the object of
that faith. You cannot make something true simply believing in it.
If something is true, it is true. If something is false, it is
false. Believing in something does not make it so. There is no value
in faith if there is no value in the object of that faith.
-
Knowledge and acceptance of Christ is
paramount to everything else in life.
Government / Politics
-
"That government is best which governs
least." - Henry David Thoreau
-
People should be free from government
control to do anything they would like as long as it does not injure
someone else.
-
There are probably some exceptions to
the phrase above.
-
Our government is very far off of how
it was designed
-
Our government is
a republic, not a democracy.
-
The
difference between the two is far more than just symantics.
-
A
republic is a government
where the law is king. The law rules; not people.
-
A democracy is four wolves and a lamb voting on lunch.
It is mob rule. It allows the many to trample the few.
-
A Republic treats everyone
equally. Everyone is equally subject to the law, even those
who make it and wield it.
-
Virtually
everyone, even conservative Republicans, refer to our
government as a democracy.

This
country was founded as a Christian nation
-
"Separation
of church and state" is a fallacy. The phrase does not exist in
any founding document. What the Bill of Rights does say is Congress
shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or
preventing the free exercise thereof. We see case after case of the
free exercise being squashed on the trumped-up grounds that
exercising it somehow establishes it. It is utter nonsense. It is wielded
heavy-handedly against Christians while other religions are given a
pass, or in some cases, keenly encouraged.
-
The federal government is far outside
its Constitutional boundaries. It has taken control of nearly every
aspect of our lives. Yet the Constitution only enumerates a few
powers to the federal government and specifically outlaws any other
powers (without an amendment). Most existing federal law is
unconstitutional and illegal.
-
The income tax is a form of slavery
and must be abolished.
-
Major media is very far left.
You can see it in what the report, and even more obviously in what
they don't. For a full picture of the news, visit WorldNetDaily.
-
The media protects and perpetuates an
ever-increasing government.
-
Social Security causes the older generation to
steal from their children for their own gain.
-
The Republican Party refuses to stand
for what it claims to stand for
-
"Big Tent" is a sell-out
the the least-common denominator of moral compromise
-
Much of the Republican Party
platform of today could have been taken from the Democratic
Party platform a few decades back. So, I ask you, who's ideas
are winning? When Reagan was President, the Republican Party
platform called for the dismantling of the Department of
Education and getting the Federal government out of education.
George W. Bush made expanding the Federal government's role in
education the centerpiece of his campaign.
-
Today's "Liberal" thinking
is moronic. They are dead wrong on just about every issue.
-
Today's "Conservative"
actions are moronic. Although the claim to stand for what is right on
many issues, they rarely do it.
-
Liberalism has left behind its
historic stand of helping the downtrodden. Today, liberals strive to
keep people down so they can complain about it and get more power to
"solve" the problem. But the problems will never be solved
because government cannot solve them in the first place and because
those purporting to want to solve them, in fact benefit directly
from them continuing forever.
-
Liberals want you to be able to do
anything you want morally (sexually) as long as they control most of
your money. They don't seem to think that freedom extends into the
financial realm -- that is their territory.
-
The main difference between the
Democrats and the Republicans is that the Democrats would
take us over the cliff at 80 miles an hour; the Republicans would
stay within the
speed limit. - Howard Phillips
(Constitution Party)
-
Political parties do a great
disservice to the people of this country.
-
As Winston Churchill once said: The
American government is the worst form of government, except for all
the others.
Abortion
-
Abortion is wrong.
It kills an innocent person. It is
murder.
-
"Pro-Choice"
is really Pro-Death
-
Abortion
should not be allowed in the case of rape or incest as many
"reasonable" and "moderate" people hold. The
manner of conception does not change what it is: a child.
-
I
know of no situation where an abortion would save the life of
the mother. If the baby needs to come out, that's fine. Just
make every effort to save the baby. How does killing the baby
improve the mother's situation?
-
Some
people will argue since we don't know exactly when life begins
that people should be free to kill it. But...
-
If
you have to kill it, it is alive
-
At
the point of conception, a new organism exists. It is a
human. It has unique DNA distinct from its parents.
-
Not
knowing when life begins is more reason to be careful. If
you are about to take down a building with explosives and
you aren't sure if anyone is inside, the prudent thing to do
is not blow up the building until you know for sure. You
don't carelessly blow it up on the basis that you don't
know.
-
When
a woman has an abortion, she doesn't go from being pregnant to being
not pregnant. She goes from being the mother of a live baby to being
the mother of a dead baby.
-
The
only real question that needs to be answered is "What is
the unborn?"

I Kill This?

Homosexuality
-
Homosexual
behavior is wrong
-
There is no such thing as a
homosexual. It is not an identity; it is a behavior.
-
The term
implies a false legitimacy
as if homo- and hetero- are equal choices. They are not. One is
normal; the other is a deviation from normal.
-
It is a very destructive lifestyle
to those who practice it. Aids obviously takes it's toll. But
many other factors as well serve to lessen the lifespan of the
average homosexual. The lifestyle literally kills them. (See the
Ten
Things Gay Men Should Discuss With Their Health Care Providers
from the Gay and Lesbian
Medical Association)
-
Gay
activists push many lies about homosexuality
-
Homosexuality can be changed
-
Despite a long search and many
false proclamations of the "gay gene", there is no
evidence of a biological origin. Every single cell in your body
contains chromosomes with your gender identity: male or female.
-
Change is difficult but it is
possible.
-
Many people have left
homosexuality. See Exodus
International. Read the testimony of Stephen
Bennett. Stephen Bennett's web
site.
-
Why is it that people can switch
from heterosexual behavior to homosexual behavior and be
welcomed into the homosexual community as finally "finding
themselves" and yet suggesting that someone could journey
the other way brings calls of hatred, homophobia, and the other
usual attacks?
-
Abusing or harming homosexuals is
wrong
-
God created all of us, including
homosexuals.
-
God loves all of us, including
homosexuals.
-
Christians should do everything
possible to extend love and acceptance to homosexuals. That does
not mean condoning the sin. The phrase "hate the sin but
love the sinner" is often invoked. While that is true, I
find it irritating because of the way Christians often seem to
apply it only to homosexuality. Other sins are overlooked more
easily and apparently don't require that mantra to remind us to
love the sinner. Are homosexuals so hard to love? They are
fellow strugglers through life in need of God. If you think
yourself better, that is simply a problem you have with pride.
Origins / Evolution
-
Evolution
is false and illogical
-
It
defies
the 2nd law of thermodynamics (things degrade and wear out, they
don't improve and get more complex)
-
It
defies
information theory (a thing cannot produce something more
complex than itself)
-
Chance
is often attributed with being the driving force behind
evolution. But "chance" is not a force, it can't do anything. Chance doesn't make
a coin go heads or tails, it is simply a mathematical way of
measuring it.
-
There
is an almost complete
lack of evidence. The fossil record should have countless
transitional forms. Darwin predicted it. But we have never found
them. They simply don't exist. What we do find is the same types
of fossils, over and over again. Now scientists talk about ideas
like punctuated equilibrium, where evolution took place in quick
bursts. First they tell us it needs a long time because
"chance" takes a long time. But a long time would
produce many fossils, which don't exist. So now they tell us it
happened quickly and that's why there are no fossils. This is
considered science.
-
Belief
in evolution is more faith than logic. It is very anti-religion;
specifically, anti-Christian. (see The
Emperor's New Species)
-
Most
evolutionary teaching is full of propaganda, lies, manipulation,
and fabrication.
-
Modern
microbiology has shown us that organisms are far more
complicated than we previously thought (see Michael
Behe's book "Darwin's Black Box").
-
To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances...could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest
degree. - Charles Darwin
-
The
earth may very well be a few billion years old (see Reason's
to Believe).
-
Many
Christians assume giving into the idea of an old earth is giving
into evolution. But the age of the earth and evolution are two
entirely different questions.
-
The
universe was probably created by a big-bang event, which points
toward God. A big bang is a definite point where everything
suddenly explodes out of nothing. Sounds like creation to me.

(although they could stop bashing Christianity so flagrantly)
